IMPLANTS are for everyone…

Dr. Jang and I are committed to placing and restoring implants at the highest level.  We have shown this commitment in our education (Both are Misch Implant Institute graduates) as well as the new technology we utilize. We have treated patients from all over the Central New York area including Syracuse, Watertown, Ithaca and Cortland.

Implants can be used in a variety of situations. One of the most common uses is to place implants beneath a lower denture to help stabilize the appliance. This has given many people back the confidence they once had. They no longer worry about losing their teeth in the middle of dinner, or mid-sentence. I have been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and have seen many changes in the profession. We once cut into “virgin” teeth without remorse to bridge a missing tooth. With Implants those perfect teeth can now remain untouched, how much sense does this make? Often these implants are in place under an hour with only local anesthesia. It is not the radical surgery some imagine it to be.

Beautiful Smiles is one of the only offices in Central New York to offer Cone Beam imaging. This Digital x-ray machine takes 200 pictures in 14 seconds and then correlates these images into a 3 dimensional picture with amazing accuracy. There is no guessing. We also use Simplant software so we can actual place implants well before the appointment and make all our diagnostic decisions at this time. Our decisions include;

 How are we going to restore this space? What size implant(s) do we need to accomadate our restoration, to provide a solid foundation?  Do we have enough bone present to place the implant safely, and if not, how can we add bone to this area to place the implant correctly to fit the restoration needed. All too often, the implant is placed to match the amount of bone present, then the restoration. We see that as the cart before the horse!
