Tooth Whitening -Vs- Porcelain Veneers
Whitening vs. Veneers or Facings
We have had many questions in regard to whitening versus veneers or facings. At Beautiful Smiles we always attempt to be as minimally invasive as possible. If we believe that a whitening program will deliver the desired results, this is what we suggest. Veneers are more often utilized when there is tooth spacing, shape, structural damage, or intrinsic stains that will not benefit from a whitening program. I first placed veneers in 1984, and still love the natural look of this all-ceramic restoration. If you are interested in changing your smile, please get as much information as possible! Patients are often unaware of the all of their treatment options. Use the Internet, ask to see pictures of actual cases completed, ask for testimonials from other patients, and demand information. Good decisions are made from knowledge and understanding. It is always best to consider the most conservative method of restoring your teeth. Saving tooth structure gives you more to fall back on if further treatment is needed in the future. We are always glad to answer your questions at Beautiful Smiles; we want our patients to feel completely comfortable with their choice of treatment.
